Huge 1930s Irish convent religious wooden sign
Code: 10153
Dimensions:
A wonderful early 20th century wood and board sign, which originally hung over the entrance way at the Adoration Convent in Wexford, Ireland.
The simple applied gilt font spelling out the word 'ETERNITY'. The word symbolising a philosophy that runs through various religions.
The suspended sign would have meant a great deal to the sisters who resided at the convent, a daily reminder of their faith and commitment to the church.
Scratch built and painted in two tones of green onsite by the convent's groundskeeper. Dating to the 1930s.
Measuring 297.5cm wide x 30cm high x 2.4cm deep.
With holes in the outer frame from where the sign was originally hung.
Some minor age related wear and tear to the rear, but the sign displays well, with little visible damage to its front. Please consult the listing images.
