An antique Georgian elm dairy stool with iron strap repair

A wonderful antique Georgian solid elm dairy stool. Circa 1820.
A fine example of an early 19th century milking stool, with charming iron strap 'make do and mend' repair.
With thick elm slab seat showing good warm colour and well figured grain.
Raised on four octagonal elm legs.
A good size and with lovely time worn patina.

With age related wear and tear,
Crack to one end of seat panel, this is the reason for the strap repair which was carried out early on in the life of the stool.
Some movement to one leg, but leg still remains within the joint. Evidence of old repair work to joint.
Evidence of historic non active wood worm, this has been treated for peace of mind.
