An antique 19th century riveted copper log bin

Originally this Victorian riveted copper boiling vat was used in the process of washing clothes.

These vessels are now used widely within the home, sat by the fireplace serving as an ideal rustic log bin, likewise they are a sought after for use as planters within the garden.

This particular example is an ideal size and it would suit either of these uses.

With a deep patina and some nice Verdigris colouration.

Between the rivets are chased crosses which is purely cosmetic and shows an attention to detail when it was originally constructed.

It has survived surprisingly well with no holes and the rim is in good order, showing no splits or signs of repair.

The vat has a nice flat base which gives good stability.
