A 19th century painted pine cricket table, originally from Kirk Edge Convent.

Heavy duty and solid, with a thick plank top in a dark cherry varnish. Raised on painted turned legs.

The Monastery of the Holy Spirit situated on the edge of Sheffield was known locally as Kirk Edge Convent. Nuns have resided here for over a century.

Although this wonderful vernacular cricket table would have been used daily, the care it was shown has allowed it to survive its long life well.

A good size with an 80cm diameter top, and measuring 75cm high.

More pieces from the abbey are available at our showroom , including a fantastic pine scrub top table from the kitchens at the convent.

Cricket tables are highly sought after, they are a great addition for any interior.

The table has survived so well and is rock solid.

It is in good antique condition with no repairs.

No rot or worm.

The top has a slight warping to one small area although this does not affect the level surface.
