An antique 19th century elm and ash hoop and stick back Windsor chair
Code: 10264
Dimensions:
A fine quality 19th century English elm and ash Windsor armchair.
Constructed with stick and hoop back rest, and beautiful turned armrest supports.
With well formed saddle shaped elm seat, raised on turned legs and H form stretcher.
The chair has developed a fantastic patina through both its use over many years, and from being sat for periods of time near to an open fire.
The original black painted finish has worn nicely, exposing the beautiful timber underneath.
The chair is fully original with surprisingly no cracks or repairs to the hoops, which is a common issue with this style of chair.
In particular the well worn armrests are a charming detail of the chair along with the historic heat damage to the original black paint.
Boasting great colour and exposed grain this country chair would be the ideal addition for a cottage interior.
