A vintage 1930s Mickey Mouse toy by Dean's Rag Book Co. Ltd
Code: 10349
Dimensions:
A charming and scarce vintage Walt Disney Mickey Mouse toy manufactured by Deans Rag Doll Book Co of Sussex, United Kingdom.
Dating to the early 1930s when the company first began to produce these soft toys whilst in bitter patent battle with Walt Disney. Early examples such as this were produced following the debut of the Mickey Mouse film Steamboat Willie in 1928.
The toy is constructed from various soft stuffed textiles, including velveteen head and body, with leather hands and feet. With orignal beady eyes rather than the later 'googly' eye examples. The leather foot pads also help to date the doll to this earlier period.
Given its age there is evidence of historic repairs as might be expected with well played soft toys from the early 20th century.
Original face markings are still present.
The doll measures 21cm tall approximately.
Signs of historic stitch repairs, and replacement buttons to the red velvet shorts.
The doll is found in played with condition.
We do also have a rare Minnie Mouse doll available. We have illustrated this in the final listing image (please note this listing is for the Mickey Mouse doll only). Please make conact if you are interested in both dolls.
