A primitive antique Welsh mid 19th century pine cricket table
Code: 10273
Dimensions:
A wonderful and early antique Welsh pine cricket table, circa 1850.
Constructed in pine, with a dull painted base originally from a rural cottage in the Snowdonia region.
The table has stood the test of time and survived the ravages of woodworm. With a heavily 'peppered' top and areas of loss, which now adds so much character.
The original paint has worn back particulary on the cross stretchers, just as you would want to find it.
Both pegs and screws have been used in its construction.
A great size and still rock solid so a perfect table to use anywhere in the home.
Ravaged by worm, and lacking one cross stretcher but still a wonderful example of honest vernacular antique Welsh furniture.
Dimensions:-
Height - 74.1cm
Top diameter - 77cm
The woodworm is non active and has been treated regardless for peace of mind.
Areas of loss as illustrated, with one cross stretcher lacking.
Structurally sound.
Some minor movement to the individual planks making up the top, but still fixed and fully usueable.
