A pair of good quality early 20th century lambing or crofters chairs.
Hand made in thick elm and pine, these wonderful chairs were produced by the cabinet makers G. T. Harris Ltd of Northampton.
Dating to the late 1920s / early 30s, and are found with their original upholstered sprung seats.
Each chair has a recessed panelled backrest, scroll armrests and are joined by a single stretcher. To the cresting rail is a shaped carry handle.
This pair of charming chairs would be ideal to sit either side of the fire place. Perfect for a cottage interior.
The original sprung panels in pale olive upholstery are particularly comfortable. Certainly cosy armchairs to relax in.
The dark stain on the elm armrests has worn back nicely over years of use, this has revealed the nicely figure grain in the timber.
