A large rare 1930s skull and crossbones Italian dynamite factory danger sign
Code: 10298
Dimensions:
A rare 1930s large iron danger sign, formed as a skull and crossbones.
Originally from the Nobel dynamite factory in Avigliana, Italy.
The factory was established by Alfred Nobel in 1872. It went on to become one of the largest producers of dynamite during WW2.
The factory was subsequently bombed and destroyed. This makes the sign all the rarer given the site was reduced to rubble.
This wonderful piece of historic salvage is certainly an instantly recognisable symbol of danger and death.
With crude hand cut details, and great age related weathered patina.
Mounted to a modern metal display stand.
Dimensions:-
Total height - 40cm
29cm high x 34cm wide (without stand).
Base depth - 8.5cm
With age related wear and tear, no signs of repair.
Original fixing holes present.
