A large antique 19th century Irish glazed painted pine kitchen cupboard
Code: 10296
Dimensions:
This wonderful Irish kitchen cupboard dates to late 19th century and originates from a cottage in County Antrim.
Fresh to market, large in scale and with charming blue and cream painted finish.
The upper section comprises of two glazed doors, still with their original period glass panels to each section.
To the interior are two fixed solid pine shelves, with beautiful scalloped edge. The whole of this section is found in period black paint.
The bottom of the cupboard has two panel doors which when opened reveal another fixed shelf. The interior to the lower section is unpainted.
The old painted finish on the carcass has developed a charming appearance, with cracks and small losses. This has revealed that originally the cupboard was scumble glazed.
The sky blue and cream front is a fantastic combination, which would be ideal if used in a country cottage or rustic interior. The glazed upper section would be perfect for displaying crockery.
The cupboard is particularly well made and constructed in solid pine. Original backboards still present.
A rare survivor and now incredibly desirable.
