An impressive 19th century enamel advertising sign for Royal Daylight and White Rose lamp oils.

Dating to 1890, the wonderful white text in various bold fonts over the cobalt blue background makes for a real eye catching display.

Originally this would have hung on the exterior of a shop to advertise the two company's products, along with detailing their sucess.

Its lovely to see the sign has not been cut down and is still intact.

The huge scale along with great colour combination, makes this an ideal interior design piece, perfect for a kitchen, cafe or bar.

Produced by the Imperial Enamel Company of Birmingham, with the maker's name to the bottom right hand corner.

Dimensions:

183.5cm x 91.5cm

With age related wear and tear as illustrated, however considering the sign's age this is a wonderful example of Victorian advertising. With no restoration, or repair. some small losses to the enamel surface, Supplied mounted to a timber frame to ensure the sign does not bow under its own weight, also allows the sign to be stood against a wall. Some holes from the screw fixings.
