A charming antique late 19th century Welsh pine cricket table.

A particularly interesting and unusual example of Welsh vernacular furniture. With historic alteration to its height. This change certainly done not long after its original construction.

The top has been raised most likely to suit its use and environment.

The table is constructed in pine with a treacle scumble glaze type painted top.

The tri form base is still found in the original dull painted finish.

Originally from a rural cottage in Llanberis, Wales.

With both peg and screw construction.

The base of one leg was seen excessive wear and loss to its length throughout its long life. At some point a brass foot was added which also adds to its character.

Dimensions:-

Height - 66.5cm

Top diameter - 58cm

Certainly a standout example with the change to its height adding to its charm.

Structurally sound and ready to use.

With age related wear and tear as expected.

Some loss to one leg as already mentioned.

Evidence of historic non active woodworm to a small section of the carcass. This has been treated for peace of mind.
