A charming hefty and uncommon early 19th century English antique pine settle.
With a low backrest and good deep plank seat. The three drawers within the base make this a very useful piece for the home, ideal for a kitchen interior where both seating and storage is required.
The tactile undulations to the seat are a favourite feature of ours, illustrating the settle's long life of heavy use.
With a great warm colour to the timber, and extensive worn patina throughout, this would suit any cottage or county home.
The settle's well built design and rustic aesthetic make this a standout example.
The visible through tenon joints to the seat have developed good wear along with the pine seat board and add a great deal of character to the piece.
