A wonderful 19th century Irish pine one piece dresser.
Well constructed in a provincial vernacular manner, featuring a single piece design and raised on traditional protruding sledge feet.
Designed with a more simple Victorian rural aesthetic, with very little embellishment except for the scalloped frieze beneath the moulded cornice. The timber has developed an attractive depth and warmth.
Extensive 'worm tracks' can be seen throughout the piece which only help to enhance its character and individual charm.
A great example of Irish country furniture. The 'iron stains' from the original nails are another lovely historic detail the dresser boasts.
The top section of the dresser has three fixed shelves. To the base are two simple doors, which when opened reveal a storage space divided by a single fixed shelf.
Of slender desirable proportions making it idea to fit any interior.

Structurally sound and ready to use.
Obvious signs of woodworm activity, although this has all been treated and is not active. The worm tracks actually have enhanced the appearance and added character to the dresser.
The dresser stands well and is stable.
The two doors open and close as intended, each well fixed.
Some historic wax sits in small areas of the worm holes. A area of loss to one back board as illustrated.
Two timber batons have been fixed to the underside of the carcass. This is a historic repair.
Handles have been moved during the dresser's life.
