A wonderful antique late 18th century engraving, entitled "A Male and Female, Ancient Britain" this fine detailed engraving is a part of Ashburton's History of England collection.

The engraving dates to 1793 and was produced in the English School style, depicting two ancient Britons. The figures are shown to have intricate full body decoration, comprising of both painted symbols and tattoo art. The patterns on each of the figures are made up of both animal and celestial symbols.

This particular image has been highly reproduced, with companies selling prints given its collectibility. This is the only genuine engraving currently now on the market, and therefore an incredibly rare opportunity to own the original Georgian engraving.
