Code: 10137
Dimensions:
A wonderful late18th century Dutch oil painting on timber panel.
A nice depiction of a Dutch man seated at a table in a tavern interior. The figure is wearing traditional attire of the period and is smoking a clay pipe. The pewter plate of oysters on the table is a lovely detail.
The oils have been well applied to an oak panel.
The painting has a charming aesthetic with just the right amount of craquelure to the paint surface, and a deep patina to the oak panel.
The panel itself has been chamfered to the edges a sign of quality.
Panel measures:-
35.2cm high x 27.3cm wide x 7mm deep
A good example from this period. Highly sought after.
With age related wear and tear as illustrated in listing images.
